Frequently Asked Questions

How should I maintain my inflatable?

Simple maintenance of your inflatable product will keep it functioning properly and extend the life of your product. Maintenance includes cleaning, as needed, with a gentle detergent, and a thorough cleaning prior to winter storage. (See below for details.)

Upon removing your inflatable at the end of the season, it is highly recommended that you inspect all surfaces, fasteners, valves and other parts for damage or normal "wear and tear." The best time to take care of any issues is in the fall or winter to ensure a hassle-free installation in the spring.

How should I clean my inflatable?

  • Never use high pressure cleaning equipment such as a pressure washer on your inflatable. It will damage the vinyl.

  • Remove inflatables from the water and place on a clean surface, such as a tarp or clean plastic sheet. Make sure the area underneath is free of sticks, rocks, or any other sharp objects.

  • Re-inflate the inflatables.

  • Using a hose and soft brush or cloth, wash inflatables with soapy water and sufficient elbow grease to remove dirt, sand and other small particles.  Use Aurora Speed Clean for tough stains.

  • This is a perfect time to check for any damaged areas or leaks that need repair. Small bubbles will accumulate on the surface where air is leaking through. Use colored chalk or a grease pencil to mark areas that need repair or patching. (Refer to our tip sheet on repairs for assistance with patching.)

  • Check all valves to ensure they are clean and free of any debris or foreign objects.

  • Rinse with fresh water and allow to air dry completely.

  • 303 protectant restores and maintains a like-new appearance. It will help repel soiling and staining of the vinyl, and will help keep it supple.

    • At least once per season, or as needed depending on use and water clarity, and definitely prior to winter storage, apply 303 protectant to all sides and allow to air dry completely.

    • In very sunny locations with year-round use, apply 303 protectant to all sides and al

    • low to air dry completely, at least once every 3 months.

How should I store my inflatable?

  • Deflate the product, preferably using the reverse mode of an electric pump or shop vacuum,
ensuring that all air is removed.

  • Fold the inflatable into the desired storage width (usually into thirds) and roll it up.

  • Wrap the inflatable in a protective cover, such as a tarp, and secure tightly with rope or straps.

  • Store the product out of direct sunlight and protected from the environment in a clean, dry place.
It is best to store it inside a container with moth balls to prevent rodent damage.

  • Never store in a damp location or directly on concrete.

  • Never store at temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit (5 degrees Celsius) or in an area with broad temperature fluctuations.
